The original plan showed tall book stacks and other items that don’t work as well in today’s library environment. With modifications to the plan the County was able to provide additional study areas and soft seating. As an added bonus they were also able to increase the linear inches for book
shelves thus expanding their on hand collection for their patrons.
The ability for Marathon to meet directly with the library staff, assess their needs and go through several designs until they got to one they loved was only part of the package they received with Marathon. The rest of the services were the project management, ordering and installation –
which makes it a complete turnkey service.
